Pedestrian Killed in Chico Train Accident near West 1st Street
Chico, California (September 15, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train on Saturday evening in Chico, according to police.
The incident took place at about 9:40 p.m. September 14, on the train tracks north of West 1st Street.
According to the report, a Union Pacific Train was traveling northbound when it hit a pedestrian.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim’s identity was not immediately released.
No further details were released.
The Chico Police Department is investigating the crash.
