Stanislaus County, California (May 1, 2021) – Cheyenne Wight, 16, of Denair, has been identified as one of the two parties who were killed in a Wednesday morning traffic accident in Stanislaus County, according to the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.

The deadly accident occurred at about 8:00 a.m., on April 28, on Santa Fe Avenue, south of East Keyes Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Kristie Wight, 48, of Denair, was driving southbound on Santa Fe Avenue in a Chevrolet SUV when it entered the northbound lane and collided head-on with a Ram flatbed truck.

Cheyenne Wight Killed in Crash on Santa Fe Avenue

Kristie and Cheyenne Wight were taken to Memorial Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead. Cheyenne Wight was a passenger in the SUV.

The driver of the Ram sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Doctors Medical Center for treatment.

It was not clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
