Charlton Caldwell Killed in Car Crash at 106th Street and Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, California (July 13, 2020) – A 45-year-old man was killed in a car crash that occurred in the Westmont neighborhood of Los Angeles on Saturday night.
The fatal collision happened at about 9:35 p.m. July 11, on Vermont Avenue at 106th Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Charlton Caldwell was driving a 2007 black Saab 20T on the roadway and was trying to avoid a crash involving two BMWs. A white 2008 BMW had been traveling eastbound when it failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into a white 2007 BMW that was traveling southbound.
Caldwell swerved to avoid the two vehicles and crashed into a concrete center median before striking a tree.
Man Killed, Another Injured in Los Angeles Car Crash
Caldwell, a resident of Compton, was killed in the accident.
A 39-year-old Los Angeles man sustained minor injuries and was transported to Centinela Hospital Medical Center.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
