Chancey Darmond Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Interstate 805 in Chula Vista
Coroner ID’d Transient Woman Killed in Chula Vista Pedestrian Collision on Interstate 805 as Chancey Darmond
Chula, California (October 21, 2020) – The transient woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle last week in Chula Vista has been identified as 31-year-old Chancey Charnae Darmond, the San Diego Medical Examiner reported.
The fatal pedestrian accident happened at around 1:18 a.m. October 14, on Interstate 805 just south of State Route 54
Darmond was possibly hit by multiple vehicles on the northbound side of the highway in unclear circumstances.
The initial report showed that a driver of a vehicle heading northbound on SR- 805 pulled over and called 911 after observing several cars swerving in front of him avoiding debris and what appeared to be a body in the highway.

Sadly, Darmond was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation into the fatal accident is underway.
