Camino, California (July 22, 2021) – A motorist was killed Friday afternoon in a fiery traffic collision in Camino, according to a California Highway Patrol reported.

The deadly crash happened at about 4:50 p.m. Friday, July 16, on Highway 50 at 5 Mile Road.

An Audi was heading eastbound on Highway 50 when it turned onto 5 Mile Road and traveled directly into the path of a westbound Dodge Ram 2500, the CHP report states.

The Audi was struck on the right passenger side by the Ram. After the impact, the Audi flipped onto a drainage ditch and then caught fire.

Deadly Highway 50 Collision in Camino

The driver of the Audi died in the crash. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of the family.

The 32-year-old driver of the Ram had minor injuries.

No arrests have been made.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
