Cameron Park, California (March 9, 2019) – Five people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision Friday evening in the area of Cameron Park, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision happened at around 6:02 p.m. Friday, March 8, on eastbound Highway 50 at Cameron Park.

As per the CHP officials, a dark gray van and a dark gray car crashed for unknown reasons. The vehicles were blocking lane 1 following the accident.

An ambulance was sent to the scene to attend to the injured parties. Five people were transported to Marshall Medical Center in El Dorado County for treatment of minor injuries.

The number of victims and their current condition was not immediately available.

Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the crash site.

The roadway was cleared as of 7:04 p.m.

No additional information concerning this incident was provided.
