Camarillo, CA: Motorcyclist Severely Injured after Colliding with Pickup Truck on Las Posas Road

Camarillo, California (October 17, 2019) – A motorcyclist was severely injured when he collided with a pickup truck Thursday morning in Camarillo, a local news source reported.

The incident happened at about 7:10 a.m. on Las Posas Road, south of Hueneme Road.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer Kevin Denharder, the motorcyclist was riding a 2013 BMW southbound on Las Posas Road, passing a line of southbound cars.

At the front of those cars was a Ford F-150 pickup traveling south. The driver of that pickup, a 42-year-old Camarillo man, was making a left turn into a private driveway when his vehicle hit the motorcycle in a broadside collision.

The rider, a 43-year-old Camarillo man, was ejected from his bike and sustained severe injuries. Paramedics responded to the scene and rushed the victim to Ventura County Medical Center.

Denharder said the area has a broken double-yellow line that allowed for both the left turn and for passing when conditions are safe.

The collision is under an active investigation by the authorities.
