4-Year-Old Girl Dies in Cajon Pass Crash on 15 Freeway near State Route 138
Cajon Pass, California (March 24, 2021) – A girl was killed Tuesday night in a car crash in the Cajon Pass, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly accident happened just after 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 23 on 15 Freeway, just north of State Route 138.
The CHP said a 2014 Hyundai sedan was traveling southbound on 15 Freeway when, for unknown reasons, it crashed on the roadway.
A male driver of a Ford Explorer who witnessed the crash pulled over at the scene and got out of his vehicle to check on the condition of the driver.
The good Samaritan then got back into the Explorer. In the process, a 2016 Kia sedan that was traveling at an unspecified speed and crashed into the Hyundai. The impact pushed the Hyundai into the Explorer.
Deadly Car Accident on 15 Freeway in Cajon Pass,
A passenger in the Explorer, a 4-year-old girl, was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the crash.
