Caitlyn Shaffer Injured in Traffic Accident on Highway 101 near Barkdull Road
Garberville, California (June 1, 2020) – A 31-year-old woman was injured after being struck by a delineator in a traffic collision in Garberville on Friday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 3:13 p.m. May 29, on Highway 101 near Barkdull Road.
29-year-old William Legrain was driving his 2011 Kia Sedona northbound on US-101 when a southbound vehicle struck a traffic delineator at a construction zone.
The impact caused the delineator to become airborne and crash through the windshield of the Kia.
The delineator struck Caitlyn Shaffer who was in the front passenger seat of the Kia, leaving her with major injuries.
A juvenile passenger in the Kia suffered minor injuries in the accident.
Legrain and a second juvenile passenger were unhurt.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
