Paso Robles, California (October 28, 2020) – Cahleigh Martin, 22, of Templeton, has been identified as the driver who was injured after being involved in a deadly four-vehicle accident Monday evening in Paso Robles.

The tragic wreck happened at about 6:52 p.m. Monday, October 26, on Highway 101 at the State Route 46 W. Off-Ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP said a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Martin, was heading southbound in the right-hand lane of Highway 101 at a speed of 60 to 65 miles per hour when it made a lane change and crashed into the back of a 2018 GMC Terrain that was stopped for traffic in the southbound inner lane.

Due to the impact, the GMC slammed into a 2001 Avalon, which then struck a stopped 2016 Chevrolet.

The driver of the GMC was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of family.

Martin sustained minor injuries in the crash. The driver of the Avalon, Louie Bellen, 35, of Camarillo, and the Chevrolet’s driver, Ralph Buckner, 69, of Fountain Valley, were not injured.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.

Traffic on the roadway was stopped for an unknown period due to the accident.

An investigation into the collision is underway.
