Aleena Moore and Alejandro Cazares Arrested after Concord Car Accident on Diamond Boulevard near Willows Shopping Center That Injured 67-Year-Old Concord Man

Concord, California (January 9, 2019) – The burglary suspects who caused a hit-and-run crash that injured a 67-year-old man in Concord have been arrested, according to police.
At about 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, officers received a report of the theft at Home Depot, in the 2090 Meridian Park Boulevard.
When the police arrived, they determined that loss prevention staff had confronted a male outside the store with a $1,100 power tool. The man then dropped the tool and ran to a waiting car, which drove away.
Moments after officers shared a description, another officer saw the car on Diamond Boulevard near the Veranda shopping center and turned on his lights and siren to force it to stop. Police said the car kept going and hit another vehicle on Diamond at the Willows shopping center entrance.
A 67-year-old Concord man, who was the driver of the struck vehicle, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.
The two suspects, identified as Aleena Moore, 33, and Alejandro Cazares, 26, were detained and arrested on suspicion of burglary, evading and hit-and-run with injury.
According to the authorities, Moore and Cazares appear to be suspects in previous theft attempts at Home Depot stores in Pittsburg and Antioch.
