13-Year-Old Bryce Houghton ID’d as Boy Killed in Fountain Valley Crash on 405 Freeway near Euclid Street

Fountain Valley, California (April 3, 2019) – The 13-year-old San Marcos boy who was killed Saturday night in an alleged DUI accident that left several others injured in Fountain Valley has been identified as Bryce Houghton, according to a local news source.
The fatal crash happened at about 10:50 p.m. Saturday, March 30, on the 405 Freeway near Euclid Street.
According to the CHP, a 2015 Honda Odyssey minivan occupied by a family of five was stopped in the northbound HOV lane on 405 Freeway when the driver of a black 2014 Toyota Tacoma failed to see the vehicle and rear-ended it. The Toyota was then hit in the rear by a 2019 Toyota Tacoma.
Bryce Houghton Dies in Fatal Car Crash in Fountain Valley
Bryce was among the five occupants of the van. He was taken to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The other occupants were hospitalized with moderate to major injuries.
The Toyota driver, a 24-year-old Tustin resident, sustained non-life threatening injuries. He was placed under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The occupants of the 2019 Toyota Tacoma were treated for minor injuries.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
