Sacramento, California (July 10, 2021) – A man was arrested after a hit-and-run collision that left a pedestrian with major injuries on Thursday night in Sacramento, according to the authorities.

The incident occurred on eastbound Interstate 80 at the Marconi Avenue exit at about 10:35 p.m. July 8.

The California Highway Patrol said Brian Evans-Kitchen, 34, of Sacramento, was driving a gold Lexus when he collided with a Ford, a Toyota Camry, and a pedestrian in the area.

Pedestrian Seriously Hurt in Sacramento Pedestrian Collision on I-80 

Evans-Kitchen, who had his 3-year-old child in the vehicle, reportedly fled from the scene after the collision.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital with major injuries including a broken back.

The authorities later located Evans-Kitchen at his residence. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI, hit-and-run, and child endangerment.

The incident is under investigation.
