Bakersfield, California (May 7, 2021) – Doug Allmon has been identified as the bicyclist who was hospitalized with critical injuries following an alleged hit-and-run traffic collision in Bakersfield Saturday night

The DUI accident took place near Stockdale Highway and California Avenue at about 9:15 p.m. on May 1.

Allmon and a female party were hit by a vehicle while riding their bicycles near the intersection under unclear circumstances.

Bakersfield Bicycle Accident Injures Doug Allmon

Doug sustained critical injuries while the other cyclist survived with non-life-threatening injuries following the collision.

Both victims were attended to by paramedics and then taken to an area hospital for further medical aid.

The involved male motorist reportedly did not remain at the scene after the crash. The suspect was later found and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence resulting in hurts and hit-and-run involving severe bodily injury.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
