Bertha Magana-Rios ID’d as Woman Killed in Phelan Pedestrian Accident on Phelan Road near Baldy Mesa Road
Phelan, California (May 4, 2019) – The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner has identified the woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday night in Phelan.
Bertha Magana-Rios died in the accident that occurred 8:47 p.m. Thursday, May 2 on Phelan Road near Baldy Mesa Road.
Authorities said Magana-Rios was hit by a blue 2016 Toyota Scion iM on Phelan Road for reasons still under investigation. Due to the impact, Magana-Rios was thrown down on the roadway.
Magana-Rios was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the involved vehicle stopped after the accident and cooperated with the authorities.
Phelan Road was closed down in both directions while the police conducted the investigation.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
