2 Injured, 1 Critical in Bay Park Car Crash at Clairemont Drive and Rappahannock Avenue

Bay Park, California (April 10, 2020) – According to a San Diego police report, two drivers were hurt following a two-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon in Bay Park.
As per the dispatch, the crash occurred in the area of Clairemont Drive and Rappahannock Avenue at about 4:10 p.m. April 9.
Authorities said a 2011 Toyota Corolla driven by a 59-year-old woman north on Clairemont Drive drifted to the left and rear-ended a Jeep Wrangler at the intersection. The Wrangler was stopping in the left-hand turn pocket prior to the collision.
Due to the impact of the crash, the Jeep flipped onto its side.

San Diego Fire-Rescue Department personnel responded at the crash site and extricated the Toyota motorist who was pinned inside the wreckage.
The female victim was then rushed to an area hospital by paramedics for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The Jeep driver, a 59-year-old man, complained of pain after the mishap.
Meanwhile, the current condition and the identities of both patients have not yet been disclosed thus far.
The crash resulted in the closure of Clairemont Drive between Ute, and Dakota drives for an unknown time.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident. The San Diego Police Department’s traffic unit is investigating the cause of the wreck.
