Officer, Pregnant Woman Among 3 Hurt in Barrio Logan Crash at National Avenue and Cesar Chavez Parkway
Barrio Logan, California (June 26, 2019) – A two-vehicle collision sent a patrol vehicle crashing into a building and left three people injured on Wednesday morning in Barrio Logan, according to the authorities.
The incident occurred near the intersection of National Avenue and Cesar Chavez Parkway shortly after 9 a.m.
Authorities said a rideshare driver allegedly ran a red light and collided with a police vehicle. The impact sent the police vehicle into the Ponderosa Deli Mart.
Three Hurt in Barrio Logan Crash
The female officer was treated for a minor leg injury.
A pregnant woman who was a passenger in the rideshare vehicle also suffered minor injuries.
A man coming out of the store was hit by the patrol vehicle and was hospitalized with serious injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
