Bakersfield, California (October 26, 2019) – A female pedestrian was struck and injured by an alleged hit-and-run driver in Bakersfield on Friday evening.

The California Highway Patrol said the pedestrian crash happened shortly after 8:43 p.m. on October 25, on Highway 155 near Evans Road.

The CHP said a female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle of unspecified type while walking on the highway for reasons still under investigation.

The victim sustained unspecified injuries in the crash. The patient was then rushed to a local hospital for further treatment.

Officials affirmed the driver involved did not stop after hitting the woman.

The detectives handling the case are gathering more evidence to identify why the collision happened.
