Bakersfield, CA: Major Injury Crash Involving Semi on Highway 99
Highway 99 Collision near Lerdo Highway in Bakersfield Saturday
Bakersfield, California (April 11, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a major injury accident involving a semi-truck that occurred Saturday night in Bakersfield.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash took place at about 8:13 p.m. on southbound Highway 99 near Lerdo Highway.
The crash involved at least one other vehicle that reportedly crashed into the rear of the truck. That vehicle had its airbags deployed.
The driver of the semi reportedly continued driving after the crash but stopped slightly ahead of the collision scene.

An unknown number of people suffered major injuries in the crash. An ambulance was sent to the scene to offer medical aid to the victims and transport them to the hospital.
The cause of the crash is under an investigation by CHP.
