1 Killed, 1 Injured in Bakersfield Crash on Copus Road near Highway 99

Bakersfield, California (February 10, 2021) – One person was killed in a Tuesday afternoon head-on crash that left one person injured in Bakersfield, authorities said.
The deadly accident happened at about 2:10 p.m., on February 9, on Copus Road, just west of Highway 99.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Kia Rio was headed westbound on Copus Road when it suddenly went into the eastbound lane where it collided head-on with a tractor trailer.
The collision caused the eastbound big rig to roll over. The asphalt was spilled onto the roadway.
Fatal Bakersfield Crash
Sadly, the driver of the Kia sustained fatal injuries in the accident.
The driver of the big rig, a woman in her 30’s, sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
