Bakersfield, CA: Fatal Big Rig Accident on Highway 99 near Highway 119
1 Killed, 1 Injured in Bakersfield Crash on Highway 99 near Highway 119
Bakersfield, California (March 22, 2020) – One person was killed and another injured in a crash involving a big rig early Sunday morning in Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened shortly after 4 a.m. on Highway 99 just north of Highway 119.
According to CHP, a Volkswagen Jetta was traveling northbound on Highway 99 when it was rear-ended by a big rig.
The impact pushed both vehicles off the side of the roadway.

The driver of the Jetta died in the wreck.
The other driver was taken to a hospital with moderate to major injuries.
The CHP is investigating the crash.
