Bakersfield, California (August 29, 2020) – At least one person was killed in a semi-truck accident on Friday morning in Bakersfield, authorities said.

At about 6:11 a.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly accident at the intersection of Herring Road and Old River Road.

The officials said a pickup truck collided with a semi at the intersection in unclear circumstances.

Following the collision, the pickup truck caught fire, and the driver was trapped inside the vehicle, the CHP said.
