Woman Killed in Bakersfield Car Accident at Pond and Melcher Roads
Bakersfield, California (July 12, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Saturday night two-car accident that killed a woman in McFarland, Bakersfield.
The deadly crash transpired at around 11:00 p.m., on July 11, at the intersection of Pond and Melcher roads.
As per the CHP report, a 23-year-old woman was traveling northbound on Melcher Road when she allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection.
The 23-year-old woman’s car reportedly broadsided another vehicle, driven by a woman, that was traveling westbound on Pond Road.
As a result of the collision, the broadsided vehicle struck a power pole, the officials said.

The driver of the broadsided vehicle was trapped in her car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 23-year-old woman was hospitalized with major injuries.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
