1 Killed, 1 Injured in Bakersfield ATV Crash at Alfred Harrell Highway and Fairfax Road
Bakersfield, California (July 14, 2020) – One person died and another one sustained minor injuries after a pickup rear-ended a quad bike at an intersection in Bakersfield Monday night.
The fatal crash took place at Fairfax Road and Alfred Harrell Highway on July 13.
Officials said the pickup was heading north on Fairfax Road when it slammed into the rear of the quad bike for unknown reasons.
The quad had no reflectors or lights at the time of the collision.

A passenger riding in the bike was pronounced dead at the scene.
The quad’s rider sustained minor injuries in the wreck. The patient was rushed to an area hospital and was tested for signs of drug or alcohol impairment.
Police affirmed that the pickup operator remained at the crash site and was not impaired.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
