Kings County, California (January 13, 2021) – A 56-year-old woman from Armona was killed in a two-vehicle rollover crash last week in Kings County, authorities said.

The deadly accident happened at about 5:50 p.m., on Tuesday, January 5, on Highway 198 near 2nd Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 1998 Toyota being driven by 51-year-old Saul Ceja was headed westbound on the highway when a 2017 Hyundai, driven by Rayshon Espirito, 27, of Visalia, rear-ended it.

As a result of the collision, both vehicles veered off the roadway in a northwesterly direction, and the Toyota flipped over several, ejecting the 56-year-old female passenger, officials said.

Sadly, the 56-year-old Armona woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
