Arda Gulesserian Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on 73 Freeway in Newport Beach
65-Year-Old Arda Gulesserian ID’d as Woman Killed in Newport Beach Crash on 73 Freeway
Newport Beach, California (June 6, 2019) – The woman who was killed in a crash involving a suspected wrong-way driver in Newport Beach Wednesday morning has been identified as Arda Gulesserian, 65, according to a local news source.
The fatal accident was reported at about 8:56 a.m. June 5, on the 73 Freeway, near Birch Street.
According to the CHP, Luke Fitch, 23, of Newport Beach, was operating a silver Mercedes-Benz station wagon southbound in the northbound lanes of the freeway when he collided head-on with an oncoming white BMW sedan driven by Gulesserian. A driver in a white Lexus subsequently crashed into the Mercedes.

Gulesserian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fitch was critically injured following the collision and was rushed to Orange County Global Medical Center.
The CHP is conducting an investigation into the incident.
