Male Cyclist Suffers Major Injuries in Aptos Bicycle Accident at Aptos Creek Road and Soquel Drive
Aptos, California (April 5, 2021) – A male bicyclist was hospitalized Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle at an intersection in Aptos, according to a local news source.
The major injury collision was reported just after 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 4, at the intersection of Aptos Creek Road and Soquel Drive, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to the CHP, the bicyclist was hit by a white Volkswagen Jetta at the Aptos intersection for unknown reasons.
Major Injury Bicycle Accident in Aptos
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found the bicyclist suffering from major injuries following the crash. The rider was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treatment. The name and condition of the victim were not immediately disclosed.
It was not immediately clear whether the Jetta driver stopped at or fled the scene after the accident. The intersection was closed while the investigation took place.
