1 Killed, 1 Hurt in Apple Valley Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 18 Near Apple Valley Road

Apple Valley, California (April 1, 2020) – One person died and another one hurt following a multi-vehicle collision in Apple Valley Tuesday afternoon.
According to a local news source, the crash involving multiple vehicles was reported at about 3:15 p.m. along Highway 18 near Apple Valley Road.
Police said a 2014 Toyota RAV4 was traveling west on the highway when it was rear-ended by a blue 2002 Chrysler Town and a Country van.
Due to the impact, the Toyota was pushed into the eastbound lanes where it possibly crashed with a white Dodge van and a gray 2012 Toyota Highlander.

The female party driving the Toyota was declared dead at the scene after her vehicle partially overturned as a result of the wreck.
Meanwhile, an occupant riding in the Dodge van sustained unspecified injuries and was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center by paramedics.
No other injuries were reported following the mishap.
The names of both the deceased and the injured victim have not yet been released to this time.
The crash resulted in the closure of Highway 18 between Apple Valley Road and Kasota Road in both directions for several hours as investigation and clean up took place.
The detectives handling the case are gathering more evidence to identify the cause of the accident.
