Antioch, California (September 17, 2020) – Three people, including a 2-year-old child, were seriously injured in a traffic accident on Wednesday night in Antioch, authorities said.

The major injury crash occurred before midnight on September 16, on Lone Tree Way.

According to the police, a Nissan, with three occupants, drifted off the roadway and crashed into a tree near Deer Valley High School in unclear circumstances.

All three persons in the vehicle were critically injured. The child was taken to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland, while the other two adults were transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for treatment.

More details about the accident were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
