Anthony Morale Arrested After Vacaville DUI Car Crash That Killed 38-Year-Old Sacramento Man on Highway 80 near Highway 505
Vacaville, California (January 28, 2019) – The wrong-way DUI driver who caused a traffic accident that killed a 38-year-old Sacramento man early Saturday morning in Vacaville has been arrested, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident happened at around 1:28 a.m. Saturday, January 26 on Interstate Highway 80 near the Interstate Highway 505 junction.
The vehicles involved were described as a Toyota Prius and a Toyota Corolla.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Anthony Morales, 34, of Sacramento was driving westbound on eastbound Interstate 80 when his vehicle collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle operated by a 38-year-old Sacramento man.
The 38-year-old Sacramento man was taken to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name has not been disclosed pending identification and notification of family.
Morales was also taken to the hospital with major injuries. It was immediately unclear which vehicle Morales was driving, but he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
No other injuries were reported.
