Annabelle Cavendar Hospitalized after Fatal Modesto Crash near La Grange
Annabelle Cavendar Injured in Highway 132 Crash

Modesto, California (May 21, 2019) – The California Highway Patrol have identified Annabelle Cavendar, 4, of Modesto as one of the five people who were injured Sunday afternoon in a two-car accident that also killed a woman near La Grange.
The fatal crash took place just before 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 19 on Highway 132, just west of Mariposa County line.
According to the CHP, a woman was driving eastbound on Highway 132, east of Hayward Road when for an unknown reason she allowed her Nissan sedan to drift into the westbound lane.
A 2016 Subaru sedan traveling westbound on Highway 132 struck the left rear the Nissan. The force of the impact pushed the Nissan off the roadway, where it stopped off the south edge of the highway and burst into flames.

Cavendar and three other passengers in the Subaru sustained minor injuries and were taken to Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock while the driver of the Subaru was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto with minor injuries.
The Nissan driver, who has not been identified pending notification of next of kin, was declared dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
