Angels Camp, California (January 11, 2019) – A teen pedestrian was struck and injured by a vehicle Thursday morning on a street in Angels Camp, a local news source reported.

The accident took place at around 8:00 a.m. Thursday, January 10 on San Joaquin Street, about 100 yards from Mark Twain Elementary School, just east of Alpine Street.

According to police, the 14-year-old girl was walking to the school on San Joaquin Street when for an undetermined reason she was sideswiped by the passenger side of a car.

Medical personnel responded to the scene and rendered aid to the girl who was left with minor injuries after the crash. The patient was treated at the scene and did not need transportation to the hospital.

According to witnesses, the driver involved, an unidentified woman, stopped at the scene and checked on the child, got back into her vehicle and left upon seeing that the girl was okay.

The woman was believed to be about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 125 pounds, with brown hair tied into a bun. She was wearing black sweats, a dark-colored sweatshirt, and Ugg-type boots while her car was described as a dark-colored sedan,

The accident was being investigated as a possible hit-and-run, the authorities said. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the Angels Camp Police Department at (209)736-2567.
