Amber Russell ID’d as Woman Killed in Pacheco Accident on Interstate 680 near Highway 4 Off-Ramp

Pacheco, California (November 19, 2020) – The woman who died in a single-vehicle traffic collision Wednesday morning in Pacheco has been identified as Amber Russell, 20, of Milpitas.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 10:25 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, on Interstate 680 Freeway near Highway 4 exit.
The CHP said a 2003 Nissan 350z was traveling northbound on Interstate 680 when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control and veered off the roadway.
The Nissan then crashed into the center divider. It then traveled back across all lanes of the interstate and drifted off the road.

Russell, who was riding as a passenger in the Nissan, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Nissan driver, a 22-year-old Milpitas man, sustained major injuries and was transported to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek.
It is undetermined if drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
