Lakeport Man Dies, Amber Bruhn Arrested after North Lakeport Bicycle Crash Lakeshore Boulevard near Hill Road East

North Lakeport, California (December 2, 2020) – Amber Bruhn, 33, of Nice, has been identified as the suspect who was arrested after a hit-and-run bicycle accident that killed a 47-year-old man from Lakeport on Wednesday afternoon in North Lakeport, Lake County, authorities said.
At about 1:54 p.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly bicycle accident on Lakeshore Boulevard, north of Hill Road East.
The CHP said the bicyclist was headed southbound on Lakeshore Boulevard, within the southbound lane.
At the same time, a white 2005 Kia Sorrento, driven by Amber Bruhn, 33, of Nice, was reportedly traveling southbound on Lakeshore Boulevard, approaching the bicyclist.
Unfortunately, Bruhn’s Kia crashed into the bicyclist. The crash impact sent the man over Bruhn’s vehicle and onto the roadway, the officials said.

The bicyclist, who was using his safety equipment, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bruhn fled the scene and left the vehicle at a nearby hotel. She was later located and arrested.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
