Rancho Cordova, California (April 21, 2021) – 40-year-old Amalya Sukiasyan has been identified as the Good Samaritan who died after being hit by a vehicle after stopping to help an injured pedestrian near Rancho Cordova in Sacramento last week Friday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision happened in the area of Folsom Boulevard and Bradshaw Road at around 8:15 p.m.

Sukiasyan and her husband were driving to their home in Los Angeles when they came upon an accident scene.

The two pulled over on the side of the road and Sukiasyan exited the vehicle to render aid to a pedestrian who had been hit by a car.

Good Samaritan Hit, Killed by Oncoming Car While Assisting Injured Pedestrian in Sacramento

The police said Sukiasyan, the injured pedestrian and another Good Samaritan were hit by an oncoming vehicle.

Sukiasyan, a mother of four, died at the scene of the accident.

The pedestrian and the other Good Samaritan Samaritan survived the crash and were transported to the hospital for treatment in unknown condition.

The motorist who hit Sukiasyan stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

No additional information about the crash was provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
