Alyssa Funes ID’d as Woman Killed in Santa Clara Crash on Cabrillo Avenue and Fordham Drive

Santa Clara, California (July 11, 2019) – The woman who was killed in a traffic collision early Monday morning in Santa Clara has been identified as Alyssa Funes, 25, of San Leandro, according to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The incident took place at about 1:30 a.m. July 8, in the area of Cabrillo Avenue and Fordham Drive.
According to a news source, a black Honda Fit traveling on Cabrillo Avenue at a high rate of speed collided with several parked vehicles.
Funes and a 29-year-old San Leandro man were riding in the Honda. They were both ejected by the impact of the crash.

Funes was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased. The male victim was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
Police closed Cabrillo Avenue for several hours as the scene was examined and cleared.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
