Alejandro Garibary and Gerardo Castro Hospitalized after Templeton Motorcycle Accident on Old County Road

Templeton, California (February 3, 2021) – Two men were injured early Tuesday morning in an alleged DUI motorcycle accident in Templeton, according to a local news source.
The crash happened at around 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, on Old County Road, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to the CHP, Gerardo Jesus Castro, 19, was riding a 2002 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on Old County Road at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and traveled into a front yard of a residence.
The motorcycle reportedly crashed into a fence. As a result of the collision, Castro and his passenger Alejandro Palacios Garibary, 19, were thrown off the bike. They were not wearing their helmets.
Motorcycle Accident on Old County Road in Templeton
Castro fled the scene on foot but was later caught hiding behind an apartment complex. Both men were transported to a local hospital with fractures and other related injuries.
Authorities later determined that Castro was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident. He was ultimately arrested on felony DUI and hit and run charges.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
