Albany, CA: Multi-Car Crash on 580 Freeway and 80 Freeway
Minor Injuries Reported in Albany Crash on 580 Freeway and 80 Freeway
Albany, California (February 9, 2019) – Minor injuries were reported after a multi-vehicle collision Friday night in the area of Albany, according to the California Highway Patrol report.
The collision happened at around 10:31 p.m. Friday, February 8, on westbound 580 Freeway transition to eastbound 80 Freeway.
As per the report, three vehicles crashed for reasons still under investigation. One of the cars involved had airbags deployed.
An ambulance was sent to the scene to attend to the injured parties. The number of victims and their current condition was not immediately known.
The vehicles were blocking lanes 1 and 2 following the collision.
Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the crash site.
No additional information regarding this incident was provided.
