Alameda County, California (January 24, 2019) – A man was killed Thursday morning in a traffic crash involving a big rig and another vehicle in Alameda County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fatal accident was reported at around 5:30 a.m. on Interstate 205, just east of the Interstate 580 transition.

The CHP said for an unknown reason a truck driven by the man, crashed into the rear of a big rig on eastbound Interstate 205.

The man was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending identification and notification of his relatives.

As of 8:20 a.m. all lanes of the interstate were reopened.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact the CHP at 925-828-0466.
