Driver Sustains Major Injuries in Interstate 580 Accident near San Ramon Road in Alameda County

Alameda County, California (January 20, 2019) – A driver was seriously injured early Saturday morning in a traffic crash involving a semi-trailer truck in Alameda County, authorities said.
The wreck was reported at about 2:57 a.m. Saturday, January 19 on Interstate 580, just west of the San Ramon Road and Foothill Road off-ramp.
According to the authorities, a loaded semi-trailer truck collided with a van for an unknown reason on Interstate 580. The van was wedged underneath the truck as a result of the collision.
Firefighters along with paramedics responded to the scene and extricated the driver of the van. The victim sustained major injuries and was transported to the hospital.
The name of the patient and their condition at this time remained unknown.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
