2 Injured in Alameda County Car Accident on 680 Freeway Near Vargas Road

Alameda County, California (February 2, 2020) – Two people were injured in a traffic collision involving multiple vehicles in Alameda County on Saturday night, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The accident involving five cars happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. on February 1, along the 680 Freeway near Fremont, just south of Vargas Road.
The circumstances that lead to the collision of the five vehicles in the southbound lanes of the Freeway were not disclosed at the time of the report.
Some of the vehicles involved were described as a Honda CR-V, a black Audi station wagon, and a black Honda Accord. Due to the impact, the Honda CR-V acquired major front-end damage while the Accord had major damage.
At Least 1 Hospitalized After Alameda County Crash on 680 Freeway
A male and female victims were found at the scene bleeding by paramedics along with the Fire department officials who responded shortly after the wreck.
At least one person was hospitalized at Regional Medical Center in San Jose with major injuries.
The identities of the patients and their current conditions have not yet been released to this time.
The accident remains under an active investigation.
