Adrian Ortega Arrested after Deadly Hit-and-Run Bicycle Crash in Irwindale
Suspected DUI, Hit-and-Run Driver Arrested after Irwindale Crash near Foothill Boulevard and Huntington Drive

Irwindale, California (March 27, 2021) – Adrian Ortega, 21, of La Puente, was arrested following an early Saturday morning hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist dead, according to Irwindale Police Department.
The man was arrested on suspicion of felony vehicular manslaughter, felony DUI and felony hit-and-run.
According to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher, at around 1:21 a.m., firefighters and paramedics responded to reports of a person down in the roadway near some bicycle debris in the area of Foothill Boulevard and Huntington Drive.
The responders determined that the victim was riding a bicycle and had been struck by a vehicle heading east on Huntington Drive and the car fled the scene.
Authorities said the accident happened in the 2900 block of Huntington Drive.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after the crash, West Covina police stopped a vehicle in the area of Francisquito and Sunset avenues that had evidence connecting to the fatal Irwindale hit-and-run crash.
Ortega, who was the driver of the car, was arrested. He was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
