Redding, California (February 25, 2019) – Authorities have released the name of a 20-year-old soldier from Orange County who died following an alleged DUI multi-vehicle collision on Valentine’s Day in Redding.
The fatal crash was reported on Friday morning, February 14, on Interstate 5 Freeway near Lake Boulevard/Highway 299 interchange.
The accident involved a 2013 Honda Civic driven by 22-year-old Jecenia Hedrick of Anderson southbound on 5 Freeway, a 2006 BMW sedan that was being operated by 20-year-old Adrian Estrada on the same traffic lane and a Peter-built tractor truck.
The Honda reportedly rear-ended the BMW sedan shortly after 1:00 a.m. for unknown reasons. The BMW overturned and landed onto its roof upon the impact. 56-year-old Timothy McDaniel, who was driving the Peter-built tractor, then crashed into the BMW.

Estrada was pronounced deceased at the crash scene.
Officials said Hedrick and her passenger, 20-year-old James Parscal, sustained severe injuries in the wreck. Both victims were rushed to an area hospital for medication.
Meanwhile, McDaniel, a resident of Medford, Oregon, was not hurt following the mishap.
Hedrick, who was affirmed to have been driving under the influence of alcohol, was later arrested for DUI and is facing felony charges, including manslaughter.
The fatal crash remains under an active investigation.
