Adolfo Gonzalez ID’d as Pedestrian Killed in Oakland Crash on San Leandro Street

Oakland, California (January 27, 2021) – Adolfo Gonzalez, 55, of Hayward, has been identified as the male pedestrian who was hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Saturday morning in East Oakland, according to the Alameda County coroner’s bureau.
The deadly hit-and-run pedestrian accident occurred at about 6:01 a.m., on January 18, in the 10200 block of San Leandro Street.
According to the police, Gonzalez was crossing the roadway when an eastbound vehicle struck him in unclear circumstances. He was allegedly not in a crosswalk.
First responders arrived at the scene and found Gonzalez lying unconscious in the street.

Gonzalez was critically injured and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Sadly, Gonzalez succumbed to his injuries on Sunday.
The involved driver fled the scene and is being sought by the police.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
