Adelanto, California (October 21, 2019) – One person was killed in an auto-pedestrian accident involving a big rig on Monday morning in Adelanto, according to the CHP.
The crash happened shortly before 6:00 a.m. on US Highway 395 near Trenton Road.
CHP said a pedestrian was hit by an 18-wheeler on southbound US 395. It’s unclear what led up to the crash.

The pedestrian, who was not immediately identified, was killed in the crash.
Southbound US Highway 395 was closed as officials worked to clear the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Many pedestrians are hurt and several others killed in accidents in California every year. The causes of many of these pedestrian accidents include distracted driving, speeding, drunk driving, reckless driving, bad weather, wrong-way driving and failure to observe traffic laws. It is evident that negligence on the part of motorists is the leading cause of these accidents.
