2 Dead, 1 Airlifted after Highway 395 Crash Friday night near Shadow Mountain
Adelanto, California (January 12, 2019) – Two people were killed Friday night in a head-on collision in Adelanto, according to a local news source.
The horrific accident, which was reported at around 10:35 p.m. Friday, January 11, happened on U.S. Highway 395, just south of Shadow Mountain.
First responders arrived at the scene and they found two cars with major front-damage and wreckages scattered on the road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, one occupant from each car was declared dead at the scene and another person was airlifted to a trauma center with unspecified injuries.
As per the report, the vehicles involved were described as a white Toyota Corolla and a Cadillac Xt5 SUV. The CHP said a caller reported that one of the involved drivers was driving reckless before the collision and was crossing over double solid yellow lines.
The California Highway Patrol shut down Highway 395 in the immediate area for several hours as they investigated the accident.
The names of both the deceased and the injured victim have not been released.
No additional information was immediately provided. CHP is investigating the crash.
