Abel Villegas ID’d as Man Killed in Sacramento Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 80 near Raley Boulevard
Sacramento, California (November 18, 2020) – Abel Villegas, 36, of Sacramento, has been identified as the man who was killed in a pedestrian accident on Wednesday morning in north Sacramento, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
The deadly pedestrian accident occurred at about 1:45 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 80, just west of Raley Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Villegas was struck by a Jeep Patriot, driven by a 59-year-old Sacramento woman, on the roadway in unclear circumstances.

Sadly, Villegas was pronounced dead at the scene.
The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
Traffic on the roadway was stopped for about two hours due to the accident.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having contributed to the mishap.
The crash remains under investigation.
