Abdelrauf Yasin Suffers Major Injuries in Trinity County Crash on Highway 3 near East Road
Trinity County, California (February 19, 2021) – Abdelrauf Yasin, 21, of Chico, was seriously injured Friday morning in a car crash in Trinity County, according to a local news source.
The major injury collision happened shortly before 7:30 a.m. on Highway 3, just north of East Road, the California Highway Patrol report states.
According to the CHP, Yasin was driving southbound on Highway 3 when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed into a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to split in half.
Major Injury Crash on Highway 3 in Trinity County
Yasin was able to get out of the wrecked vehicle on his own and was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Redding for treatment of major injuries.
Yasin reportedly fell asleep at the wheel prior to the collision. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.
