Fresno, California (February 10, 2021) – Aaron Rivera, 55, of Fresno, has been identified as the bicyclist who was killed Monday afternoon in a traffic accident in Fresno County, according to the Fresno County Coroner’s office.

The deadly accident took place shortly before 2:30 p.m., on February 8, on Cedar Avenue and Kenmore Drive, authorities reported.

According to the authorities, Rivera was riding his bicycle eastbound on Cedar Avenue when, for undetermined reasons, he drifted into the path of a Toyota Camry that was traveling southbound.

Rivera ultimately collided with the Toyota Camry. The impact caused Rivera to be ejected onto the front of the vehicle.

Rivera sustained severe head injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the Toyota Camry stopped at the scene and cooperated with the officers. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
