Oscar Matus Arrested after Fatal San Francisco Pedestrian Crash on 5th and Market Streets
San Francisco, California (July 19, 2019) – A big rig driver was arrested after a hit-and-run accident that left a pedestrian dead early Thursday morning in San Francisco, according to the police.
The accident took place at about 5:42 a.m. July 18, in the area of 5th and Market Streets.
Police said a man was struck by a tractor-trailer, whose driver fled the scene after the incident.
The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Police later located the driver of the truck, identified as Oscar Matus, 65, of Lathrop. The vehicle was located on Broadway Street.
Matus was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter.
Police are investigating the incident.
